German and Swiss hill climb racing champion Reto Miesel helped develop the new carbon bodied Mercedes-Benz SLK 340. The new Mercedes-Benz SLK hill climb racing car has trimmed down lots of weight to help give it an advantage by getting some lightweight brakes and a carbon-fiber body to help get the total weight down to 1,716 pounds. The Mercedes-Benz SLK 340 uses 18-inch wheels to roll itself down the road.

Have you ever wanted to drive really fast? Imagine yourself zooming down a road in a Mercedes-Benz going over 250 mph; now imagine driving that fast 75 years ago on road that couldn’t possibly be as good as they are now. The Mercedes-Benz W 125 set the world speed record on a public road back on January 28th, 1938 and the record still stands today. The Mercedes-Benz W 125 made it into the history books as it reached a top speed record of 268.8 miles per hour while being driven by Rudolf Caracciola. The actual Mercedes-Benz W 125 can now be seen at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. The record breaking Mercedes-Benz W 125 hangs on a wall in the museum with six other record-breaking Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
