Mercedes-Benz in New Orleans, LA has style that lasts a lifetime. A Mercedes-Benz S Type, the Saoutchik S, won this year’s “Best of Show” title at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.  The torpedo shaped body that was designed by French coachbuilder Jacques Saoutchik, won the hearts of the judges and named the Mercedes S Type the best vehicle on display at the prestigious event that took place in Pebble Beach, CA.  The owners of this Mercedes-Benz had it stored for close to 30 years and had the car restored before presenting it to the judges in Pebble Beach.

What does this sculpture look like to you?

Mercedes-Benz sure knows how to ramp up anticipation for a new model. Instead of using pictures or teasing the car in a more traditional way, Mercedes-Benz is going a different direction – by using art. Mercedes-Benz is using an outlined sculpture to show off the design of its new model, although it hasn’t said what the model is. Many are assuming it to be the next generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class that is anticipated for a late 2013 release. (more…)

The diesel engine will surprise you.

It may have gone somewhat under the radar, but Mercedes-Benz has reintroduced diesel power to its S-Class lineup. Beginning with the 2012 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the company introduced a diesel with the impressive Mercedes-Benz S350 Bluetec. A diesel Mercedes-Benz in New Orleans at this trim level has been a long time coming, but worth the wait for the many that have shown interest at Mercedes-Benz of New Orleans. (more…)
