Mercedes-Benz continues an 80 year tradition by delivering a new Popemobile to Pope Benedict XVI. A Mercedes-Benz M-Class that was specifically made for the Pope was just delivered to the Vatican on December 7^th. The leader of the Catholic Church uses the M-Class Mercedes-Benz Popemobile at numerous public appearances when he is at home in Vatican City and abroad. The M-Class Popemobile gives Pope Benedict XVI an opportunity to get up close to the public while staying safe and comfortable.

The Popemobile is based on the latest Mercedes-Benz M-Class and features improved visibility and lighting. The new Popemobile continues the tradition of Mercedes-Benz supplying transport for the Pope. The new Popemobile is fitted with the latest M-Class technologies and features a new interior design. A significantly improved view of the Pope has been gained thanks to larger glass panels in the viewing area and an illuminated roof lining.
